🌿 Healing & Ruqyah Policy – Noor Al Huda

  1. Source of Healing
  • Healing (Shifā’) comes only from Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
  • Ruqyah, Ta’weez, and medicines are merely means.
  • Allah says:

“And when I am ill, it is He (Allah) Who cures me.”
(Surah Ash-Shu‘ara, 26:80)

  1. Qur’an & Sunnah Basis
  • Ruqyah is proven from Qur’an and authentic Ahadith.
  • Rasulullah ﷺ said:

“Present your ruqyahs to me. There is nothing wrong with ruqyah as long as it does not contain shirk.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2200)

  • Snake Bite Incident (Sahabah):
A companion recited Surah al-Fatiha on a tribal leader bitten by a snake. He was cured immediately. The Sahabah were gifted sheep in return. When asked, Rasulullah ﷺ approved and said:

“The most deserving thing for which you take wages is the Book of Allah.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 5737; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2208)

  • Hadith Evidence:
Rasulullah ﷺ himself used protective duas for Hasan & Husayn (RA):

“I seek protection for you both in the Perfect Words of Allah from every devil, harmful creature, and every evil eye.”
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 4737 – Hasan Sahih)

✅ This proves charging fees for Ruqyah is completely halal.

  1. Ta’weez (Amulets / Hirz)
  • Permissible when written with Qur’anic verses, authentic duas and things that don’t contain shirk only.
  • Hirz of Abu Dujanah (RA): Reported by Imam al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman with a strong chain.
  • Imam Ghazali (rahimahullah) in Ihya Ulum al-Din states:
    • Ta’weez with Qur’an is allowed.
    • Scholars including Ibn Hajar, Imam Nawawi, and Ibn Taymiyyah agreed Qur’anic Ta’weez is permissible if free from shirk.

✅ Wearing or drinking Ta’weez prepared with Qur’anic verses and saffron/halal ink is not shirk.

  1. Dua ( Ruqyah ) & Medicine Together
  • Rasulullah ﷺ combined dua and medical treatment.

“Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, except old age.”
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 3855 – Sahih by Albani)

➡️ Therefore, we strongly advise continuing medical treatment alongside Ruqyah if it’s needed.
